Is there such a thing as hand powered phone chargers for iPhone and Samsung Galaxy?

Many apologies if this is a stupid question. I am not very tech savvy.

I am thinking about the possibility of power cuts this winter and I know you can get wind up radios. But what about wind up phone chargers?

Actually I'm interested in any wind up products such as torches and radios if anyone has any recommendations, or have they all been overtaken by solar powered gadgets?

Not so simple as you describe.

Problem is current - most modern phones need at least 0.5A, and ideally 2A to charge at a decent speed.

In power terms 15-30W you'd struggle to provide that constantly to a phone, but you could (very slowly) charge a power bank, and use that.

Solar is the way forward, use that to trickle charge a powerbank.

We rely 100% on solar on our boat. In the last 3-4 years it has evolved and is much better than previously. Solar is the way forward. You don't need sun, just daylight.

Thank you very much for that explanation FixTheBone that makes sense! I will go down the solar powered route; I appreciate the steer!

It’ll be rolling cuts of three hours at most and we will be pre-warned. Just keep your phone charged up.
We’re not prepping for Armageddon just yet..

Thank you akabluebell that’s reassuring to know as we live in quite a rainy, overcast part of the world.
