I need to buy a sim free smart phone, but I cannot decide which one and whether to chose Android or Apple. My maximum budget is £470, but I would much rather spend as little as possible. A few months ago I sent back my last smart phone and received a full refund, so now I am buying a replacement.

The most important feature on a new potential phone is the camera! It has to have a great rear camera (including optical zoom), and the front camera must be minimum 7mp.

Apps I use:

  • Clue (period tracker)

  • Banking app

  • Notepad

  • London live bus countdown

  • Google photos

  • Calculator

  • Whatsapp

My children have iPads and all the apps are apple so it would make sense for me to buy an iPhone, except the only iPhone in my budget is the iPhone SE which is right at the top of my budget and has a basic rear camera :(

I would greatly appreciate any advice regarding this conundrum :) Thank you in advance :D

Look at refurbished/second hand iPhones

BertieBotts · 09/05/2022 20:14

Yes to second hand if you prefer Apple. What are you used to using? Apple or Android?

I would recommend GSM arena for their reviews and comparisons.

I have a 12 that i had from new and it's still great.

Second getting a refurbed one. Look for a warranted guarantee so it's returnable

CEX offers 2 year warranty on their stuff
