My brother has given us his computer, only 2 months old and as our laptop has gone kaput, we're trying to get the pc to go wireless, as our router is int he livingroom and we don't want a hulking great pc in there!

There aren't any books that I can find and bro doesn't know!

Thanks!"!

PC's normally are not wireless enabled... if you are using XP.. goto STARt> CONNECT TO > SHOW ALL CONNECTIONS and you can see what is available..

I am betting you will just see a wired connection

Good luck

Okay thanks, that's really helpful actually. I'll not bash my head against the pc much more then!

Is there a way of making them wireless compatible?

Thanks

if there is not a card then you can purchase a USB wireless module or an internal PCI woreless card..

There are loads on Amazon for between £10-£30

Let me know if you need more info

You can get a wireless adapter which plugs in to a USB slot - they're not very expensive - we have this one for one of our pcs

I'm quite relieved to be done with it & back with my 'real' name - it's like putting on your comfy old slippers again after 12 days of partying in heels... though it was quite fun to be on the same thread with three or four different names!

Thank You
