Help needed please re new contract. Where do you start looking and as I'm not really pleased with DS17 who usually knows things like this, I thought I'd shock him and ask you lot. I have an old phone which will do me fine. Do I just go to a shop and get a new sim card or what? I know I sound thick but I'm really don't care about phones at all, I don't want a posh one but wouldn't mind one of the free gift things that DS used to get when re-organising his contract. Do you pay more each month for those or what? I need one that does calls to any network, any time as nowadays when people call me about my business, they always quote a moblie no and our house phone doesn't do those free.

HELP!!

So you want pay monthly, yes? You might as well get a new phone unless you are really attached to your old one, you will probably get it for free. What sort of usage do you need? because if you have a large tariff, you get just about any phone for free. For example, I have a £40 per month tariff with O2 and I got this phone free.

I imagine you want to keep your number if it's being used for bussiness so you need to have a phone on the same network and you can just put your old sim into your new phone.

You can change networks and keep your number. Just call your current provider and ask for your PAC code, you then give that to the new provider and they transfer the number over.

Be prepared to hassle them for the PAC code, incidentally; they are required to give it to you, but you will have to go through all the "why do you want to leave" crap.

I would start off at Carphone Warehouse as they have all the tariffs and it's easier to compare. They also do great deals such as this.
