I’m not very clued up on this but I’ve recently joined a small company. We have two phones between us (one is for the client and one is for the subcontractors). When each person finishes their shift, they have to transport the two phones to the person on the next shift.
Whilst it is useful being able to see the trail of text messages, it is becoming an inconvenience waiting for said phones, or transporting them when you are not actually working.
With all the technology in the world, there must be a way we can all have a phone each that shares messages and a number without sharing an actual handset.
Does anyone know what I should be looking for online?
As I wasn’t made aware of what seems to be an archaic way of operating when I started at the job, I want to show my boss the options available.

I hope that description makes sense!

Can it not just be done via call diverting?

@Mamabearinthewoods have a look at AirCall!

I didn't mean to just post the bare link there. It's a touch complicated and I'm not familiar with all the options, but you can't simply have the same number on multiple phones.

What you can do is have a redirecting number that can redirect a call to multiple phones and redistribute a text to multiple phones. I expect the phones will have their own numbers, so when you call out the individual phone number will show, not the redirecting number. You would need to talk to Flextel to clarify the details of what they can or cannot do.

I used Flextel years ago and back then it was a simpler redirect for calls, with no text support. It looks a lot more sophisticated now.

You could use a Skype to go number and have a work account on several devices, any of which could answer incoming calls..
