I was just writing an increibly hard and difficult letter when something went wrong and we got the error report box. Somehow Dh got rid of it but in the proces lost my letter. I was doing it in Word and need it back.

Sorry, I don't know the answer. But I can say that the error report boxes are easy to get rid of, and have never caused me to lose work.

Was the letter not saved at all?

NAB3littlemonkeys · 18/12/2007 20:23

If I had sorted it out I would probably still have it.

Nothing saved and now I can't think at all what I was writing. It was bloody good too.

Normally word auto saves. Just a sec ... I'll dig. Actually, often if you just fire up word again, the letter is there, from what I remember ...

Nothing there

sorry - if word hasn't automatically recovered it then it is probably lost.

but just in case - had you saved it at all? if so check the folder where you saved it - there might be a file called $something and you might be able to open that.

but probably you need to start re-writing. it is easier the second time.

Are this or this any help?
