Can anyone recommend something for me to play music on?

I don’t want anything to do with Alexa etc, literally something to connect my phone to and play music on, ideally charge it at the same time as otherwise phone battery will diminish.. I want something with a decent base. Any suggestions?

I bought this at the end of last year and really like it. It's got good base too. Doesn't charge your phone, but it's a Bluetooth connection so phone can be plugged in elsewhere.

I have an Anker soundbar. I've had it years and it's brilliant.

I find the base fine, but I'm not using it for bass heavy music. It handles big musical numbers well Grin, could see it struggling with heavy metal possibly. But generally I find it's a pretty clean sound, I often use it when I've got the extractor fan and hob going full whack and it works great for that.

That sounds good then, I’m not into heavy metal I just love a decent base without having to have it really loud Grin
Just wish I could find one that charges at the same time then it’s one less wire!

I have a UE Boom - similar to the other one it doesn't charge my phone but also playing music like that doesn't eat up loads of battery and the speaker wouldn't need charging at the same time as the phone so it's not really more wires?

I think they're on the UE 3 now, but mine is about 4 years old so not sure.

What type of phone are you using (Apple/android) and what's your budget?

Dontmindasking · 26/10/2021 06:31

@TreePorcupine I have an Apple. Not a big budget but was looking at around £100 but I have no idea if that is unreasonable as I have never bought one to know what sort of money I’m looking at Grin I don’t like having chargers in the kitchen as hate my phone on the work tops hence why I would like something that can charge the phone whilst playing music. I currently have an old boom box that does this but it is chunky and sound quality pretty crap and keeps breaking!

Thanks I’ll have a look at this. I use Spotify mainly for music plus music that is already on my phone via itunes
