Forgotten Instagram password

My dd wants to do a factory reset on her phone to try and stop it freezing all the time. However, she can't remember her Instagram password.

Does anyone know if she will loose all her followers after the reset?

We're trying to change the password but you seem to have to know the old one to change it.

If she logs out of her phone, she can log in again on her phone because it automatically remembers her password so she never gets the login page where it asks 'forgotten password'

She won’t lose followers but she will lose the password stored in her phone. Sort the password out before resetting the phone.

How?!

There must be a setting in the phone where it shows the password, if it remembers it and automatically logs in. In iOS it’s under settings > passwords

I log into mine through Facebook. They are linked, also linked to my Gmail. So she can reset the password if she has access to the email address she set up with the account!
