I think your dad would need to have pc anywhere installed too....a very clever friend of ours got into ours via messenger somehow and sorted something out......no clue how but I was very impressed!

dh does this all the time - via a 'remote assitance' website

cant remember th ename sorry

what happens is he is the assistance, the other person also logs onto site and puts in a password or PIN then dh has access to their pc

I use WebeX - www.webex.com to do remote support for customers. Very easy to use, and they have a 14 day free trial..

We use logmein.com which works a treat and is free.

If you are trying to set up a web cam do you already have MSN installed on it? If so you can get him to request remote assistance from you. It's under Actions > request remote assistance - then you are in and able to take control

thanks lurkingdad. I'll look into which the easiest option is for the computer illiterate so that my dad will use it! lol

I've always used Windows Messenger remote assistance with my Mum when she needs help, free and easy for us both
