DS needs it to charge the black box for his car insurance but it’s stopped charging. I checked with my phone and a different cable and there is definitely no power.

TIA

It's usually a fuse has blown. Dead easy to fix, just look in the book or online.

Depending on the car , there’s sometimes a 12v socket in the boot area.
Check with your cable/phone first if there is.
If that’s dead too , it sounds like the fuse as the pp mentioned.

Thanks so much for the posts. I had looked online first re the fuse but we were flummoxed.
We then realised the issue was the online help that DS had found was for a left hand drive car!!

I’m Grin now but ....

They'll likely be two fuse box locations, one under the bonnet, and one in the car, usually behind passenger footwell or glovebox. The fuses will all have numbers, you just need to work out the cigarette lighter one. Will be easier if have some needle-nose type pliers to pull it out. They'll be see-through plastic, and you can see if the metal part inside is still intact or not. If fuse has gone can usually see a break in it, and may have some blackening around it.

Sorry bananarama, I wasn’t clear. Once we realised DS’s mistake and found the instructions on line for a right hand drive car, we managed to fix it.
