Delivery report for text messages - clarification

If the delivery report status is 'waiting' does that mean that the phone I am sending the text to is no longer in use or there is problem with reception in that area or something else. Other texts I have sent this morning have been delivered.

Could be either from previous experience of that recipient. (I am just trying out delivery report on my phone).

So presumably the messages get don't get delivered until the phone gets switched on?

Had never realised this.

It's a great way to know whwen someone has turned their phone on as you get all your delivery reports. Personally they drive me nuts but my friend swears by them.

if you are sending a pic it might be that the pic is too big for the recipient to receive iyswim

ie they have an ancient phone (like me - everyone always has probs sending me pics)

They sit pending until they are delivered I think.. Until the phone is switched back on or is back in service

you generally don't get delivery messages for pictures unless you specifically set it up I think.

i use delivery reports and i think it's pretty much when the phone has a signal the message is reported delivered.

if the phone is switched off or doesn't have a signal then you will get a pending message.

just a small spanner is that i know messages have been received however they are still listed as pending in my reports box
