Gmail scheduled email issue

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has had this issue with gmail before?

I went to schedule a reply to an email last night, scheduled it for 8am (today).
I went back to check it but it said “email scheduled for Thu, Jan 1, 1970, 1:00AM” definitely didn’t put that date. Angry I tried multiple times clicking the cancel send button but it doesn’t seem to work/ unresponsive

This morning, I check my “sent” box and the email isn’t there so presume it hasn’t sent. Instead I forward the original email and send my reply again ‘normally’

I went to test out the schedule email feature again (just sending blank email to my work address)... lo and behold, it decided to work fine. Plus the cancel send button allowing me to change the scheduled time worked perfectly too Confused

It’s so frustrating as it was an important email from a recruiter so I’m slightly paranoid I’ve sent two duplicate replies.
Also, on my “gmail” mobile app the second ‘normal’ reply I sent to the recruiter is not showing within the ‘sent’ tab of my emails. Who knows if it’s even sent,

That date is the "Epoch" en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unix_time

It would suggest that the system you were using had failed to load or save the correct date and defaulted to that one in a fit of "I don't know, I need to show something".

Not sure why or what else is going on to get things into such a pickle, but at least that's why that date was showing even though you didn't enter it.
