Any Adobe Photoshop experts around?

I am trying to whiten the background in a product shot and I just can’t work it out! I’ve watched so many You Tube videos I feel that my head is going to explode.

Please can someone help me. Thanks.

I'm not a Photoshop pro, I work with Photoworks mostly, but it's practically the same. Here is their instruction about making image background transparent so that on you could leave it white or replace with another one. Maybe this will help, I think the algorithm is pretty much the same.
