Hi

I have a DAB radio in my kitchen with only half a functioning arial and it doesn't work wonderfully well. It connects best when by the window propped up high.

I'm wondering if I should get a new radio with working arial or whether it's a bit of a black spot and therefore might as well struggle on with the old...

Any advice?

Any chance of borrowing another DAB radio to see if that works OK. If it doesn't improve you'll have your answer.

I did think of that just after I posted. We don't have another DAB and obviously with covid can't really start asking neighbours to lend. Might hold on until after shut down to do this. I had thought I'd want to get one in the sale but I can't find the one I want on sale anyway!

Try a piece of wire twisted on to the antenna. Any wire will do (or any co inductive material).
The match of a receiving antenna is less important in a receiving system than a tx. Height and view are the most important characteristic.
