Problem with gmail

Hi
I seem to have lost a chunk of time on gmail - I have about 10 days with no messages. I can think of at least two messages that were definitely received during those dates which have since disappeared, not to mention all the spam there must have been.
How do I retrieve the missing stuff?

Did you inadvertently move those days emails to Trash?

I do remember gmail asking me a couple of questions last week about how it was going to be ‘smarter’ and asked for my permission.

Perhaps gmail has created new categories for your emails and moved them there ?

If you go to google and type in "gmail' then look for a 'sign into gmail' link and click on it, you will go to a page for you to sign into the account.
There you will see all your emails. Well I did lol. Hope this helps.

Good luck

Bingo! I managed to locate the Bin (don't know why it isn't listed in the main menu with inbox / sent / etc) and the emails were hiding in there. I've moved them back to Inbox now.
I think that you were probably right about 'smarter' Gmail doing its own stupid thing.
Thanks for your help.

Oooh, I've even discovered how to 'show' (instead of 'hide') the Bin.
