Graphics tablet or iPad?

My 16 year old dd loves drawing and has quite a cartoony style. I'd love to get her a graphics tablet (the kind with a built in display for Christmas) but have quite a tight budget. Someone said that I'd be better off getting her an iPad but I don't really have the £££ and she already has a laptop she uses for school, and pays for her own phone for chatting etc so it's really just the graphics bit. Any recommendations for one that won't cost the earth?? I'm wondering if there might be a black friday deal somewhere. Thanks.

You'd need an ipad pro for the same sort of versatility that you get with a graphics tablet.

Even the ones without a display are a significant step up for graphic design compared to mouse and touchscreen once you get used to them... you can get a very decent screenless Wacom for £100ish

For around £200 you're looking at something like XP Pen 12 or a Huion, Xp Pen are a more 'reputable' brand, but the Huions seem to have a really good spec for the price, if you buy from amazon at ;east you can rely on their customer service if it ends up being a dud....

Thanks, DH has an Amazon voucher so might be able to stretch to £200 as her main present...

Wacom tablet she can use with the laptop. Unless you get the super high end graphics drawing tablets, the quality is poor.

Have a look at some you tube videos of professionals artists and see what they are using. Many use a Wacom, but seeing it in practice may help you make up your mind. Also look at the other suggestions on you tube to see how they perform?
