Don't know if you'll see this but i went to the Apple Store today to ask how I can design my poster and they said my Macbook came with a free 30-day trial of iWork and that software allows you to do all that stuff. I've just started my trial and I can design newsletters, posters, cards, flyers, stationery etc. I may even buy it when the trial ends.

I just did an invitation to my dd's birthday party on my ibook. I took a photo of her that had been taken with my digital camera, put it into Photoshop (I'm sure Iworks will do it too) and put all the type across the front of the picture). Then sent the picture (with all the type) electronically to my local photo developers and had it printed as a photo. The local photo place only charges 19ç (usa) a photo and were running a special where you could get 10 copies for free. So I managed to print 40 invites for next to nothing. And they looked really cool. And it was already handily formatted for emailing too.

I am a big Mac fan yes, but am not that up with iwork really.
I have an appointment at "the genius bar" at the Apple Store tomorrow. Will see what I can find out.

Do have appleworks? It is similar to microsoft publisher. Older macs came with it pre installed.

I purchased mac office but it was pricey (coughtorrentcough might be worth a look)
