Ios14 telling me that my virgin super hub 2 is insecure.

This hub was sent to me a year ago. It had a set password with 12 characters in a mix of lower and upper case letters. No mention of weak security on settings before downloading ios14 on my iPad. My phone on 13.7 says nothing about this. Nor does my Mac. Has anyone with Virgin had this warning? A lot of stuff on the internet but put up a few years ago and mention short passwords issued all in lower case letters. As for how to reconfigure .....haven’t a clue and gives me a bad headache just thinking about it.

Don't panic - you're not unprotected and you have a strong password.
This is being widely reported on the Virgin Community Help forum. It's not about the password as such, but the type of security used for the password (WPA-PSK) which IOS.14 thinks is a bit too vulnerable.

This is copied from the community help site.
Login to your hub via 192.168.0.1
Enter your admin name and password(this is printed on a sticker on the hub if you haven’t changed the password)
Once logged in, go to Advanced settings > Wireless > Security
Click on the dropdown next to Security and change it to WPA2-PSK (note you’ll need to do this for both the 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz network if you’ve separated these)
Once you hit save the hub will refresh and when it reconnects the WiFi you should find the message has disappeared

Unfortunately, if that's all gobbleygook then you'll need a visit from a reputable firm, or a knowledgeable trusted friend to change the setting.

Not sure how to log into my hub via iPad. I can’t see 192.168.0.1. Will keep exploring.

Using Safari or whatever browser you employ, type the number into the address bar right at the top. It may possibly be 192.168.000.1 but the most common one is 192.168.1.1

Thank you again. Got onto Virgin but should have just followed you. The first difficulty I had was when zi was asked for my password. I kept putting in the password given me but this wasn’t right. Saw the show me and pressed and it was pointing towards numbers . Then I was in. However, the very patient man on the end was difficult to understand and my hearing isn’t the best so by the time it was sorted I felt a wreck and I should think the same could be said for the Virgin technician! I then saw the security warning had appeared and in its place was a privacy warning. Just given up the will to live when I saw a privacy toggle. Turned it off or on. Can’t remember as at end of tether but now everything is clear. Thank you again for helping an old woman.

You are my first port of call when I am once more in a technical mess. Your rates are very reasonable so will recommend. Thanks again.
