I used to have no probs switching between video or photo when I used either on camera.

I have no idea which button to press now as I'm not sure? It doesn't seem to be obeying me!

The icon is the red one below and it's the slide bar. Swipe left for video.

Mine has the words photo and video and I just tap them. Does yours?

I've a weird question about my galaxy...when I was setting it up, there was a option for the apps pages to open on the last page opened or on the first page. I accidentally tapped last page opened and now I can't figure out how to set it so it always opens on the first page. Anyone know what I'm talking about??

@MotherForkinShirtBalls no it isn't showing that, you're quite lucky then that you have the option.
