antivirus etc for mac

I have recently changed from a PC to a Mac. Can anyone recommend antivirus/firewall/spyware security. I had all these on the PC but do I need them on an iMac?

Mac-y people I know say you don't need it. That felt wwrong having been a pc owner, but i trusted them and so far it's been ok!

I shall follow this thread with interest - I'm sure someone will come along and say that actually we have to get some!
