My dc’s want to play both and until now I’v said no due to the age restrictions. Can anyone tell me how ‘bad’ they are? They both love fighting type games. They are 11 and 13. I’m not keen on team fortress due to eldest talks to strangers (he’s autistic) so that is a concern.

Most of their friends have these games (I know this from talking to their parents) and can’t work out if I’m too strict but I’m not a gamer so a little naive. Can anyone share?

Both are 16/Mature and deserve that rating.

Sniper is frankly horrifying. Remember when Mortal Kombat was being lambasted, but actually it was gory but rather silly? Not like that. It revels in slow motion shots of realistic heads exploding, chest cavities being crushed, that sort of thing.

Battlefield is less grotesque but still all about shooting men in the face.

Both games also have online mutiplayer with group voice chat! So, no.

(Also there's a Games forum)

That is grim!! Any ideas on the other? What’s a games forum? To talk about games?

Battlefield has somewhat realistic blood and bullet hits, and is mostly about shooting your co-players in the face like most other first/third-person gun games. Not as gross as Sniper but much worse than Team Fortress, say, which is very cartoony in style.

Ok thanks. Youngest is adamant you can turn ‘gore’ off??
