Any IPhone experts? OH has pocket disabled his phone

His iPhone X rattling around in his pocket is now disabled currently for an hour he’s not confident on his passcode as he’s used face recognition for so long

How can we fix this? A dummies guide would be great as we’re technically useless and he wants to go to the football at 12

Far too late but, fundamentally, if you've lost your passcode and the phone is disabled the only way forward is to erase all the data and setting on the phone. If the phone has been backed up that won't be a problem - once you've erased the phone you can recover the data from the backup. If it hasn't been backed up I'm afraid you won't be able to recover the data.
