password protected a Word doc

And of course I now can't remember the bloody password.

Is there any way around it?

A trick I have used in past versions of Word is to make a copy of the file. Change the file extension to .ZIP and open using Windows Explorer. Once opened, delete the settings.xml file, change the extension back to .docx and open in Word.

There are programs that can be downloaded that will recover a password, but that is for older versions of word.
