It would cost me £139... not sure whether to do it or not.

It depends what it is on.

We are totally Apple household. 5 laptops between us ranging from 17" powerbooks to the new Apple macbooks. We have iPods, shuffles, wireless, etc etc!

I have never taken out extended warranty, but it came with my 17" powerbook, and I have had the screen replaced.

DD's laptop crashed 2 weeks ago, but I traded it with another old one and got £500 and bought her a new macbook off the refurb site. It comes with 12 months warranty. It cost me £179, so worth it for a super dooper speedbumped mac.

It depends how important it is to you, we always have another laptop available and I try to make sure I back up as often as possible so woldn't be too alarmed if it crashed tonight ( will back up in case!!)

I never get extended warranties. If a product isn't likely to last that long then I wouldn't want it in the first place.

what does it cover?

No, they are not worth the paper they are written on, you still have your statutory rights.
