Your fave apps

Just been given an IPad for my birthday. Any suggestions / recommendations for good apps? DD is 21 months and we’ve got a long journey planned soon so any that you could recommend for that age too would be much appreciated.

Paprika.

It's an app to store all your recipes. it has a built in browser that will 'scrape' recipes from websites. Or if you copy a url then go into it it will recognise you have that URl copied and ask if you want to load it. I have it on my phone too so I can see ingredients when at shops. This is one of my most used apps, and one I use almost every day.

I have fits and starts of using list apps. Currently using Trello where you create 'boards' each with a no of lists, so i have all my Christmas lists on there, and an ongoing list for each day of the week, which I reorder each day to put the current day first. Tricky to describe.

Netflix and Amazon Prime Video will both allow you to download movies and shows to watch later. It's perfect for a long journey.

Mine are both teenagers so I'll let others recommend apps for the baby.

Depends what your interests are, but I like HOUZZ for decor ideas. It’s like a house magazine, but completely free. If you want relatively unbiased news the BBC NEWS app is very good - the new without sensationalism. BBC WEATHER is also a good one.

PINTEREST is so good. It’s has thousands of images so if you, say, love dogs you can search that. There’s also recipes, celebrities old and new, fashion, gardening and home decor and so much more.

SHAZAM is a fun app. You know when you hear a song and want to know what is? Just press Shazam app and it will listen to the song then tells you what it is.

All these apps are free and can easily be deleted if you find you don’t like them. Happy apping!
