There was a good thread about laptops in the last few days but I can't link it cos don't know how, sorry.

Mine did this last week, am on it now so it obv survived.
It does sound like theres no power, so either knackered battery or in my case what seemed to be a case of cumbs and dust on battery

I took mine off, cleared it and put it back and its been working fine ever since. Very simple but worth a try before you spend any money anyway!

Boredveryverybored · 20/06/2007 10:38

I always use mine on mains too btw, but the mains is plugged into the battery is it not?

Yeah, according to that thread (which I'm trying to find) you can still mess up the battery if your using mains but leaving the battery in the laptop (or something like that.........bbs, hopefully with a link

AuntyQuated · 20/06/2007 10:43

cables are all secure and have now blown o them to remove dust

underneath there should be two catches one to unlock and another to release then slide the battery out is the charger working and the fuse in the plug ok

AbRoller · 20/06/2007 10:44

Can't link it but it's in 'geeky stuff' topic about 7 threads down. A warning for laptop users.

...and the best way to avoid computer troubles is to never talk about how urgent a task involving a computer is... ...they can hear you... ...and they will break...
