DH has a phone

The battery died - it lasts about an hour

Do I buy a new battery or a new phone?

new battery; and ensure it's allowed to charge fully before using. Also don't let him do what my DP does, which is plug it in to charge but not allowing it to charge fully, it confuses the battery and it then ends up with a much shorter life.

it probably depends on the phone tbh. i would say new battery BUT only if his phone is quite newish. Things like nokia 3210 are only about a tenner now

Oh - He's on O2 pay & go

So where do I buy a new battery (phone is 18m old - or is that too old?)

It is quite old but no reason a new battery shouldn't help; haven't got a clue how much they are but I would search the net if it were me. Try Ebay/ Kelkoo etc.
Might be worth putting the model number of phone in to read reviews and check that there aren't other probs associated with it first, you can pick up fairly cheap mobs now anyway.

sorry, i wasn't very clear. i meant only a newish ohone or you would be paying more for a battery than for a phone lol!

I have dealt with a store in Wimbledon that does mail and internet sales as well. I have been using them for years, since they were working out of their bedroom. They are totally wonderful and honest and I would highly recommend them both for buying batteries and repairing phones and buying and selling used phones (and unlocking your phone from your network). Here's a link to them.
