Why cant i burn cds?

I have never had any problems burning cds until recently and now I get an error message on ITunes (something with 301 at the end). This happens every time and I've wasted so many cds on it!
I've even tried to burn through windows media player which burn as far as 99% then tells me it could not burn to disc and I should check driver software.

I've checked drivers and it said the disc drive was fine. I've followed advice and uninstalled then reinstalled ITunes and I've even bought a new disc drive which gives me the same messages. Nothing is working!! Can someone please give me any ideas what to try next? I'm tired of spending money on blank cds that end up in the bin!

Thank you. Yes cd's! Can't really say a lot but we use them at a place I volunteer at. We don't have the budget for service users to all have them electronically. Plus they don't all have devices to store them on.
