iPad Air 2 screen has gone green/purple - how to fix?

It just did it! I thought I might have touched something, but I can't work out what I could possibly have one.

I've checked that it's not inversion, have tried a reboot (holding home and power buttons down) and, after googling for advice, slapping it. But no joy.

I don't really want to try taking it apart! And I'd like to avoid a trip to the Apple Store tomorrow if at all possible. Any other ideas??

I did google the problem, and had tried all the advice I found (settings check, reboot, slapping).

Can you recommend a site that has more suggestions?

I think it may be beyond DIY, though.

Which means the choice might be new screen or new device. Is it worth having a new screen - do replacements last well? It's £190 at my local place - is that the right sort of price for a proper job? (it's about £250 at an. Apple Store). Anyone know?

A little bumpmat a different time of day

I've discarded the idea of getting a replacement Air2, so it's likely to be repair - unless they're notorious for not lasting long.

I'm considering upgrading to Pro, but hat's considerably more money. I'd rather wait for a bit, which I could do if display repair usually gives good outcome. Anyone know how long a repair is likely to last?
