How do you wipe a pc to start again?

Computer taking up to half an hour to load up, virus scans saying nothings wrong, nothings responding, should I defragment? And how would i go about that, or would I be best wiping the lot and starting from scratch, aagin, how do I go about that please, I have the original windows disk.

make a backup if you havent already. do defrag and disk cleanup. remove any programs you dont use and perhaps clear cookies. cant remember how to wipe harddrive sure somebody will be along soon!

If you have the original windows disks, then it should be easy.

Can you boot your PC from the CD? Put in the Windows CD, power on your machine. It should boot from the CD (takes quite a while) and give you the option of installing windows. Part of the installation allows you to format the hard disk, which you should do.
