Galaxy J3, screen broken after dropping it, any chance of getting the photos off it before the bin?

Hi, I;d be so grateful for any advice. I tried the Dr Fone app but it says device not recognised (it has a sim in but perhaps just too badly damaged?) plus something about USB debugging which I haven;t done (and cant of course with black screen). Just wondered if there's any way I can salvage a couple of months of photos> Luckily I backed up in March/April but admit I'm very lax with that (will try not to be in future!).

Thank you so much in advance for any advice. I'm going out now, will check back later.

Appreciate this was posted a few weeks back. Was the data stored on an SD card on the phone? i am unfamiliar with the model but if it was try and get that out.

I'm also having this issue. Phone screen broken so cant autherise. Tried dr phone too. Any help?

@queenofpharts - were you storing your data on an internal SD card and if so is that SD card accessible? If not there are tools which can be used to access an android phone's internal storage but they require a higher level of expertise.
