Why on earth can I get BBC and other freeview channels but not ITV or Channel?

Honestly, BBC channels, 5, Film 4, the sky ones. They are all fine. ITV1,2&3 and Channel /E/More - all up the shoot.

I am sure it is probably something to do with the aerial, but what. DH away and am really, really annoyed.

We have a Plasma TV with built in Freeview, not a set top box.

Anyone shed any light on it?

Yes, we sometimes get the missing channels and then sometimes they disappear with a message saying "Bad Signal". I could try retuning, hadn't thought of that. thanks

My old box didn't show any channels that had ads on.

Try looking at www.freeview.co.uk. It's got information about retuning and also has recommendations for aerials if that's what the problem is. We weren't getting ITV, Channel 4 and a few other channels. I followed the instructions on the site and it actually worked!

cant help as mine is exactly the same -w ired

all to do with signal strength, we can only get the bbc channels on our freeview, and as different boxes are better/worse at picking up signal (much like mobile phones), that's why 2 boxes off same aerial get diff. channels

might have something to do with the football and the available bandwidth that digi channels get - everyone's watching the footie and there's not enough to go round (my producer friend told me that, so don't blame me if it's complete twaddle!)
