Region 2 and 4 DVD

OK, I'm going to buy series i grey's anatomy, cheapest i can find is 12.99 (for a 2 and 4 region DVD) versus 25 ish quid for a region 2 DVD
Is there any reason a region 2 and 4 DVD will not play in a european DVD player?

We have Scrubs in 2&4, from play.com - they do seem to be always way cheaper than reg 2 - 2&4 is Australian, apparently.

Our DVD player is multi-region though, so anything will play in it, but they also play OK in our Xbox, if that makes any diff?

yes that's what it said,that it was australian, think may have to check our dvd player in fine detail
