Suddenly have to choose between "News Feed" or "Your Story" on Facebook? What's going on? Or what button have I pressed by mistake?

Please can anyone help? I am fairly new to Facebook and don't feel entirely comfortable using it yet.

I went to post some family news on my home page today on Facebook (4 photos and a paragraph of type) and it won't let me just post it as normal.

I seem to have to choose between posting on something called "News Feed" or "Your Story".

When I tried to post on "Your Story" it wouldn't let me do so without filling in who else was there (which I didn't want to do). And I don't like being coerced in to tagging people; if that is what it was trying to make me do.

I don't understand any of this frankly and don't understand why it has changed. (Although I did renew privacy settings yesterday according to new GDPR regs so it may have something to do with that?)

So what is the difference between "News Feed" and "Your story" and can I just get back to the "normal" setting please? If so, how do I do that?

I'd be really grateful for any advice/tips ... .

Hi I have the same question.
Did anyone have an answer to this please??

I think it's done just to piss me off. I don't understand the need for 'your story' - is it just to make you feel more important than you are?

Your story is like those little Instagram video clips that only last a day. Your feed puts things in your timeline like normal.
