Does anyone know any good ones? DH and I live an exciting life Wink and have been trying some brainteasers out on each other. I appear to have run out now but I want some really tricky ones to get him with tomorrow if anyone can help!

The feathers were ethically sourced from vegan pigeons who work for a charity that reclaims bricks to build hospices for refugee children.

This runs fore to aft on one side of a ship, and aft to fore on the other. What is it?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 29/03/2018 14:56

With the masses one, I prefer a pound of gold and a pound of feathers.

Just because if somebody gets it right you can be very impressed, otherwise you get to be smug Grin

DadDadDad · 29/03/2018 15:08

But Polka, you need to tell us where the gold and the feathers are.

MongerTruffle · 29/03/2018 15:13

With the masses one, I prefer a pound of gold and a pound of feathers.
The feathers still weigh more, so I'm still right. Grin
(One pound of gold = 373g; one pound of feathers = 454g)

MongerTruffle · 29/03/2018 15:21

A man and his wife raced through the streets. They stopped and the husband got out of the car. When he came back, his wife was dead, and there was a stranger in the car.

MongerTruffle · 29/03/2018 15:21

Should have added: "Explain."

DadDadDad · 29/03/2018 15:27

OK, but going back to my kilogram of bricks and kilograms of feathers, the bricks weigh more, but can you explain why?

QueenOfAccidentalDeathStares · 29/03/2018 15:31

Monger are they playing mario kart or another computer game?
I don't get the kg question. are the feathers attached to anything? Are the birds in flight? I would still dispute the answer though....

MongerTruffle · 29/03/2018 15:31

are they playing mario kart or another computer game?
No

MongerTruffle · 29/03/2018 15:32

OK, but going back to my kilogram of bricks and kilograms of feathers, the bricks weigh more, but can you explain why?

Is it to do with mass and weight not being the same thing?

QueenOfAccidentalDeathStares · 29/03/2018 15:35

oh! were they racing to get to the hospital because the woman was in labour? the stranger was the new born baby?

MongerTruffle · 29/03/2018 15:36

Yes
The woman died in childbirth.

DadDadDad · 29/03/2018 15:50

Monger - yes, I reckon the feathers will be a taller pile so centre of mass slightly further from the Earth's centre, hence having a lower weight. Although the difference is going to be tiny (order of 0.00001%).

MongerTruffle · 29/03/2018 15:51

Ohhhhhh.....

QueenOfAccidentalDeathStares · 29/03/2018 15:54

Dad ok, i'll accept that answer Grin

MongerTruffle · 29/03/2018 15:56

Hans and Fritz are Nazi German spies during World War II. They try to enter the United States, posing as returning American citizens. Hans is immediately arrested.
Why was Hans caught?

QueenOfAccidentalDeathStares · 29/03/2018 16:05

hmm.... they would be US citizens not American citizens?
or was he arrested for being AWOL?

(your ones are tough !)

MongerTruffle · 29/03/2018 16:06

Neither of those.

QueenOfAccidentalDeathStares · 29/03/2018 16:08

hmm.... in the meantime, what travels around the world but stays in the corner?

MongerTruffle · 29/03/2018 16:09

A postage stamp

DadDadDad · 29/03/2018 16:14

Was Fritz arrested as well? Is it something to do with their dates of birth?

MongerTruffle · 29/03/2018 16:16

No and yes

MongerTruffle · 29/03/2018 16:18

(I mean that Fritz wasn't arrested, and it is something to do with their dates of birth.)

QueenOfAccidentalDeathStares · 29/03/2018 16:20

Hans was drinking?
