TV Catch Up Services

Panasonic tv has recently stopped receiving the catch up services on itv hub and All4. Annoying as tv is only a couple of years old. What is the least expensive way of accessing them by alternative means ( fire stick, now box etc)?

Thinking of a Now stick, assuming it fits our tv, any offers with sports package around?

Amazon fire stick. Easiest to use and has the most channels. Only go with Now TV if you would prefer to subscribe to some Sky channels instead of Amazon. If you want both, you'll need both.

Check carefully what streaming services are on which boxes, they don't all come on every stick/box, especially Amazon prime, Netflix, NowTV, and those are the main ones.

I use my old Hudl 2 and a Chromecast. You can stream anything you can view online.

We already have a basic Sky package and bt sport so was not really looking for extra channels although dh hankers after Skysports What does a firestick access with no subscription that other devices don't and viceversa?

You'll need to Google it and compare, too many things to list here :)

It seems to be a method of selling Prime.

If you have a Sky+ box why not just access catch up from that?

NameChangingAlso · 28/03/2018 23:04

Get a Chromecast (cheap), then you can stream for free from your phone/tablet etc using their apps!

Our sky box is ancient, not even hd! Will have a google at different options, thanks.

Roku sticks seem to be quite cheap have most services. They seem to be less tied to a particular service than the competition.

LIZS · 29/03/2018 20:18

Will check that out too, thanks. Can you use a firestick without subscribing to prime?

If you have a Firestick without Prime you wont get the Amazon content.

Assuming you have a sky dish you should consider freesat

Would a 2nd hand sky+ box give you what you needed?
They are often for sale on local Facebook groups for less than the price of a streaming stick.
