CD to MP3

Am having problems transferring music from cd to mp3, can anyone help me as it's driving me up the wall.

Put cd in hit copy, then it keeps asking me to put in another disc, but I want it to go to mp3.

How do I do it the other way?

Have copied cd to my laptop, yet it still won't go to mp3, have tried to copy the file, moving the file, still no luck.

It's Sonic Multi Media program.
