Copying and playing dvds

The first time i copied a dvd it played no bother in a standalone dvd player/connected to the tv. However, I have tried to copy another 2 (different) dvds and they won't play, but they DO play on my pc.
Does anyone have any ideas what I am doing wrong?

You might want to say "made a back-up" instead of copied IYSWIM
I've had similar probs but can't remember what the reason was something to do with the file type I think.
Hope someone a lot more helpful comes along.

is every thing the same? - disks format for the back up etc?

FLIER · 26/04/2007 18:38

Yes thanks Ivor, just to clarify that, of course this was a back up of my dvd.

no as in are the disks by the same company, cos apparently some disks just don't work (according to DH)

softwear/settings the same apparently the DVD's you're backing up can cause the probs - are they dual/single layer? single are 4GB dual are 9 apparently??

(all according to DH)

in that case, yes everything is the same . I used to be so good at this type of thing, but now I'm hopeless, must be getting old
