Building your own computer: DS age 14

My DS, age 14, has managed to convince me that he could build his own computer, with a little help from his geeky friends, as apparently 2 of them did it before. That was really tempting as buying the components separately was saving a significant amount of money. So I agreed and bought all the components from various online places, his friends did indeed provide a comprehensive list with all the links etc. They are now 3 hours into building the bloody thing and guess what? They are at sea and it is not switching on, loads of loose wires coming out of a box. They are trying hard to understand what is going on TBH, watching YouTube video tutorials etc, but I thought I should find out what to do in case they don't manage it IYSWIM. We are in west London, any engineers out there that could come home and have a look at this? How much would they charge? Thanks

Leave them to it. They'll figure it out. My sons build their own gaming pc's and they have just said they need to stick at it.

They are not giving up which is pleasing to see...but I'd like to have something up my sleeve just in case :)

In that case can you watch some YouTube videos?
