Help me with spec for netbook for dd16?

Dd needs a new netbook/laptop but it'll have to be used .. I'm thinking eBay.

Could someone give me any idea of what she'll need? She's a typical 16 year old, uses it for homework, but also YouTube, music, editing vlogs, social media etc etc. What sort of prices, hard drive etc?

I think she'd like another touch screen and windows 10 as her old one has that but is trashed.

Or am I just not going to find this for my budget? I'm probably looking at max. £75.

Thanks.

For example would this one be sufficient?

Not windows but Linux/Ubuntu, no touch screen - single core processor so slow, 80Gbyte of disk which is tiny these days.

It is what it says - 6 years out of date - and the spec was still rubbish in 2011.

So no.

It says you can install whichever OS you wish - a copy of windows 10 home is £120.

Thanks. She would want Windows. What spec would she need?

What size screen? For regular homework use, suggest 14" min or screen/ keyboard get really annoying to use. But frankly £75 won't get much, Espec if has to be teen proof. Do u already have case/bag?

Thanks. I've actually just bought one on eBay. Its used but has 4gb ram and 500gb hard drive. Just an 11 inch screen but she's used to that and likes it because she can take it in her bag to school if needed. It'll be an improvement on what she's using now anyway and I'll replace it when I can with a better one. Cost me £60 Grin

Well done, what make? If a year or two old, probably better built than current ones. And proper keyboard 😏

A Toshiba. Its about 3 years old. I'm hoping it'll be ok.
