use www.siteground.com for hosting. I have used quite a few and these are by and far the best on the market. Both in terms of cost, customer service and services they offer.

I use joomla software to make my websites. Its easy to use software and with a big online community of users there are plenty of pre-made templates and other things around if you did not want to design from scratch.
