switch everything off (laptop and router) and on again - usually works with our wireless router ....

Bienchen · 13/04/2007 15:30

have done that over the last few days - it cannot find a network in range

check phone lines etc and then call provider (you arne't with talk talk are you?)

Bienchen · 13/04/2007 15:32

Phone line fine as I'm using LAN cable. Provider is Eclipse and they don't support as router is not the one that they would provide.

do you have an adaptor in your laptop?
I keep having to unplug mine and reset it?

Bienchen · 14/04/2007 22:06

no adapter, I'm afraid.

The error message suggests that wireless is switched off on the laptop but I have not changed any settings (at least not to my knowledge).

Anyone know how I can check that it is switched on?

my sony vaio has an button with a little light on it on the front that tells me when network is connected. I only found it when experiencing similar problems and DH came to have a look

Washersaurus · 14/04/2007 22:15

meant to say 'an on/off button'
