Another question about blogs

Firstly, thanks to everyone who responded to my post yesterday. I'VE GOT A BLOG!!!!!! I'm so proud of it! (jessicatmagnificat.blogspot.com/)Could you give me another piece of advice please? If I want to put in a link to another site, eg Amazon, how do I edit the hyperlink so that it's not hundreds of characters long? I've tried right-clicking the mouse over the hyperlink, but it doesn't give me the option to amend it.

Also, is there any way I can check out how many visitors my blog has had? (Not that's it's likely to be very many

when dd was doing hers through blogger we registered with another site that sends weekly emails detailing the number of visits.

What is the hyperlink? If you are pointing to a specific book, it probably IS hundreds of characters long! Or do you mean the text that is showing, ie Spot Loves His Dad
