Hello ...
I've been doing web design as a hobby for years, but someone's just asked if they can pay me to do a website for their new company.
Anybody got any ideas how much I should charge for a simple site? Should I charge a one-off fee, does there need to be some sort of service contract too?
Cheers!

Hey, I started off web designing as a hobby too and people wanted to pay me.

How much you charge depends on a number of factors - are they friends or family youd want to give a discount to, how much does the hosting cost (check out siteground.com for that they are very good), how long will it take you to build the site, what software will you be using etc etc...

As a rule I usually charge a one off fee for building the website and then charge a monthly fee if they want me to maintain the site for them.

my site is uncemented.com if you want to have a look.
