I want to send video clips to someone in USA. Does anyone know the best way to do this? Has anyone tried any of the free packages for doing this, or paid for them?

get a free trial of winzip.

Saker · 26/03/2007 13:39

Thanks. It's going to be an ongoing thing so I would have to buy winzip I think. But wondered about the supposedly free file transfer packages etc. I wondered if there was a catch and there are so many I didn't know which to choose.

you could always upload them to a hosting site and send a link. (that's what i do, its a lot easier!)

Thanks could you give me the name of a hosting site to try?

Like this sort of thing?

americantrish · 26/03/2007 17:34

youtube is okay. but if its a large file, it may distort it a bit...

Saker · 26/03/2007 20:22

Thanks I will try that littleEasterlapin. Can't everyone see your video on Youtube which I wouldn't want .

Try MegagUpload.com. You upload your files & then send a link to anyone who you want to be able to download them. There is a free version (shows a small ad each time but does work) or you can subscribe.

DH uses this a lot & rates it highly.

If you have time Americantrish, but it sounds like some of the other sites are similar, so I can probably work something out. I tried Mailbigfile last night and it seemed to work though I haven't heard for sure. Quite slow though - more than an hour to upload 3-4min of video, but maybe that's the norm. I will have a look at Megagupload too. Thanks everyone
