How much GB for new domestic use laptop?

I'll need it for music and photos. 32GB doesn't sound like enough (sounds like phone storage!) so was thinking I should get 500GB?

It needs to last quite a few years. Any tips appreciated .

32GB sounds like you were looking at a Chromebook. The reason it is so small is most data is stored on the cloud.

I would go for a 500GB drive with a second USB drive the same size for backups.

Ah, thanks. I did wonder if clouds were involved somewhere. I don't do clouds. I'll go for the 500GB.
