Need computer help, text keeps being typed over...

I can't move any text i've typed without losing the first letter of what i've typed.
If I go to add back in whats disappeared, it types over the text which is there instead of moving it on. HELP!!

Have you pressed the INSERT key by mistake? Try pressing it now and see if that helps - if you had pressed it, pressing it again will undo it.

Sounds like you've pressed the insert key. I'm on a mac so can't check but on a PC keyboard I think the insert key is on the right somewhere near the top.

Press insert again and you should be OK.

If it isn't that I've no idea. I've always thought the insert key a PITA, luckily and usefully it isn't on a mac.

If you're using Word, a little INS should should in the status bar (grey one just above the Start bar) when Insert has been pressed.
