Copy music to ipad

Has anyone found a good way to copy music from a CD to your ipad? Seems like you need to use itunes but I can't connect the ipad to my Macbook Air (too much power used or something).

Can you do it by synching with iTunes over wifi?

Surprised you can't synch the iPad with the Macbook though. Mine works OK.

Syncing with wifi ( you need to have the iPad plugged in to power to sync, once you have set up wifi sync)

I plug the usb for the ipad into the Macbook and get a "remove cable using too much power" message or something similar. Will try other idea thank.

Another possibility- is your cable a genuine Apple one? Some people have reported similar problems using a substitute

Its the cable that came with the ipad so I assume its genuine. Needs replaced anyway.
