iPad mini 2 v iPad mini 4

For my daughter aged 11 years. I like the price of the 2 model but worried about getting updates etc as they have been out for 4 years now. Would prefer the 4 but it's so much more £££s. Any advice on the mini 2? She mainly watches I player on her tablet.

I have had the mini 2 for a while. I think it represents great value for money at the new price.

It is running IOS10 with no problems. There's no lag, nothing. I have an older iPad which lags, and drives me mad, but this one seems as good as new.

I thought of upgrading to the 4 but can't see any need at present.

So I think the 2 is fine, on the other hand I'm not 11 years old :) and I'm not sure how long you would like it to last her.

Im going to be replacing my mini 2 in the near future as it's lagging now. I've tried all sorts to fix inc a full factory reset to no avail.

A new 2 will work abs fine and should be good for updates.

Is she likely to want to play games on it? If so you might want to think about the 4. If not, go for a 2.
