I have this game for my DS Lite I have a lamp in my house - I bought it from the shop. Is that what he means? They sometimes become available - stock changes daily in the shop.

Itcouldhavebeenbeetroot · 05/02/2007 17:42

on what? nintendo? Ps2

Itcouldhavebeenbeetroot · 05/02/2007 17:43

smiling at Hula and her animal crossing game

Hulababy · 05/02/2007 17:46

I like my new DS Lite Only have three games so far though - hoping my birthday next week brings another one or two though!

DimpledThighs · 05/02/2007 18:14

nintendo DS is what he has.

Have you played today Hulababy?

Son tells me it is the day of the year and the house with the most lights on it wins a prize (he loves a competition)

at hulababy and her ds too.

I play AC too ... and have my own DS lite because DD and DS got sick of me pinching theirs every day

Go buy a lamp in the shop, look everyday until they have one. Buy it. In your house put it down and when you stand by it an tap your character it turns the light on ... or off

Kaloo20 · 06/02/2007 10:16

same with music, computer, tv, washing machine, taps etc

Hulababy · 06/02/2007 18:59

DT - My 4yo DD loves the game; she obviously can only play it very superficially, but I have to share my house with here and she keeps buying lots of wierd and wonderful things!

lazyline · 11/02/2007 07:35

I'm not sure if it's the same on the DS version, but in the Gamecube version, you don't put lights on your house. Your neighbours do and then you have to decide which is the best. At the end of the week, you find out who wins.

tatt · 11/02/2007 10:16

my kid says you buy lights at Nooks shop. Also gave me this tip - if you collect seeds and send them to someone in a letter they should send you something nice back, although the seeds are worthless. You can buy paper in Nooks shop for the letter and take it to the post box.

Hope that makes some more mummies cool

mousiemousie · 11/02/2007 10:21

Lamps inside your house is not the same as the bright lights ones - which are like xmas lights on the outside of the house.

Am not sure how to get these but there are a lot of animal crossing cheat sites on the web!

DD and I both play the same game as seperate characters although not that seperate as sometimes we play as each others!

She started a new game by accident so we are back in a tiny house again and are both very annoyed about it!

Hulababy · 11/02/2007 10:24

Yes, seen the outside lights now. Don't think you can buy them though - not seen them anyway.

Agree to sending letters with presents in - then you get some presents back in return

Has anyone got any tips on how to actually catch a fish? Have got my rod, but having no luck catching a fish at all

Now got a net and a catapult, but not used either yet.

And I have bugs in my house - how to rid myself of them? I have figured that clicking on them gets rid temporarily, but not long term.

DimpledThighs · 11/02/2007 10:49

have you had that mole yet - spent twenty minutes trying to get rid of him before found out he is punishment for ds not saving the game - thought the whole hing had broken!

will tell ds to send seeds and see what happens!

OP posts:
mousiemousie · 11/02/2007 18:16

That mole is a nightmare!

Nooks sell bug spray but not always in stock - I think the bugs come if you don't play regularly!

Catching fish is almost impossible. I have caught one in about 300 attempts!

Hulababy · 11/02/2007 21:33

We had the mole today as DD turned the DS off when playing, without saving. Grrr!

So, the net? What d I do with it? I cna't see anything to catch with it.

Catapult? Again - what am I supposed to be trying to get.

At least I know I am not the only one who can't fish!

My bugs have gone

DimpledThighs · 11/02/2007 22:37

oh you guys are so much further on than us that I have no advice to give!

The mole is a nightmare and ds thought he had broken animal crossing! it is so sweet when I open it up at this time of night and see ds asleep in animal crossing too!

this thread reminds me of my DS who plays sims on his DS. He is only 6 and never does the missions set but his managers room as 2 fridges, 3 sofas, a fish tank, a big plant and a spiky bunny ornament. He loves it!

whatkatydidntdo · 11/02/2007 22:45

oh just thought DS is animal mad, is animal crossing good?

DimpledThighs · 12/02/2007 13:11

hello again!

Any ideaabout how he can get music for his house - he has a retro stereo?

Hula - I read somewhere that you can use the catapult to shoot presents out the sky!!!

OP posts:
mousiemousie · 12/02/2007 13:27

Yes, every so often something floats by in the sky and you can try to catapault it.

Apparently you need to walk not run to help catch fish (but I'm still useless) and CREEP ultra slow to catch bugs _ I can't be bothered. The only bug I ever see is when I hit the rocks with my shovel to try to get money out...each day one chucks out bells and a bug comes out of another one.

mousiemousie · 12/02/2007 13:29

aNIMAl crossing isn't particularly to do with animals, the characters are anthropomorphised...nintendogs/catz or the like might be better for an animal lover?

whatkatydidntdo · 13/02/2007 12:25

thanks for the info

Chamomile · 15/02/2007 14:06

Catching fish is easy.

Walk along the river or ocean till you see the silhouette of a fish. Then cast your rod trying to aim directly in the fish's range of vision. If it isn't swimming close to the bait within about 10 secs then lift your rod out and cast again. Once the fish nibbles at the bait wait till you hear a plop and then click.

Dimpledthighs ,to get music to play in the house you have to visit the bar on a Saturday night from about 8 pm onwards. A dog with a guitar will play a tune and give you a bootleg copy to take home. (It will appear as a treble clef in your pocket)
